Bicycle Patrol is utilized on regular patrol in neighborhoods, apartment complexes, Town Parks and along the Erie Canal Park. It is also used for special details such as the Memorial Day Parade, Fireman Field Days, Special Olympic torch run and surveillances.

The Bicycles are fitted with flashing lights, a sounder buzzer, and a rear storage pack that can carry police equipment. The bicycles are marked with police markings and the officers wear bicycle patrol police uniforms to easily distinguish them from civilian bicycle riders.

It is our belief that officers on bicycles will afford our members an effective method of detecting crime and apprehending criminals. Bicycle Patrol also allows officers to communicate with our residents more frequently than when on patrol in a police car.

It is our goal to effectively serve the residents of Camillus and we are willing to deviate from traditional methods in order to provide the best service possible.
