School Resource Officers

The Camillus Police Department has 7 School Resource Officers (SRO) assigned to the West Genesee School District and 1 C.O.D.E. Officer. The SROs provide services for the seven separate schools within the district. The School Resource Officers work with school administrators and educators year-round, as well as continuously evaluating and updating the safety plans for each school. The Camillus Patrol Division consists of (1) Patrol Lieutenant, (4) Sergeants and (17) Patrol Officers. These officers are consistently responding throughout (3) patrol zones throughout the Town of Camillus.

Criminal Investigations

The Criminal Investigations Section is comprised of (1) Supervisor and (2) Detectives. The unit is responsible for conducting secondary investigations to felony crimes committed in the Town of Camillus, assisting other law enforcement agencies, and assisting the patrol section as necessary. This section is also responsible for narcotic investigations, surveillance, and employee background investigations.

Clerical/Records

The Records Section of the Camillus Police Department is currently staffed by (4) civilian employees that handle duties ranging from greeting citizens, records management and compiling department statistics.

Regular business hours for the Records Section are 8:30am to 4:00pm Monday through Friday (excluding holidays).

Requests for reports may be made in person at the Police Department with valid identification.

Traffic Unit

The Traffic Section was created with the intent of reducing the number of traffic accidents by the way of traffic engagement. This Section consists of one officer whose primary responsibility is to educate and make the public aware of the importance of traffic safety, as well as the enforcement of traffic laws on the main roads and within residential neighborhoods.
